Day 1: Journey to the Yaeda Valley

Your adventure begins with a departure from Arusha, Karatu, Tarangire, or Manyara. For those preferring air travel, pickup from Haydom Airstrip is available. Travel through the scenic Rift Valley, ascend the escarpment, and cross the Mbulu Plateau before reaching the Lake Eyasi basin and your private Dorobo mobile camp in the Yaeda Valley. Upon arrival, meet your Hadza hosts, who will be with you throughout your stay.

Day 2: Immersing in Hadza Daily Life

After breakfast, embark on a short walk to a nearby Hadza camp. Following introductions and a brief tour, join the Hadza women in gathering tubers, berries, and baobab fruit (seasonal), while the men harvest honey. Return to camp for lunch before spending the afternoon learning traditional arrow-making techniques from the Hadza men. The evening features target practice, an optional short hunt, and breathtaking sundowners with stunning views.

Day 3: Hunting and Foraging Adventures

The day focuses on extended hunting excursions, with the Hadza leading the way in tracking wildlife while opportunistically collecting honey and berries. Depart early in the morning (6:30–7:00 AM) for the best chances of spotting animals in their natural habitat. Return to camp for lunch and enjoy an afternoon of additional hunting or honey harvesting from both stinging and stingless bees.

Day 4: Farewell to the Hadza

Opt for an early morning hunt before enjoying a relaxed breakfast. Bid farewell to your Hadza hosts before departing the Yaeda Valley. Travel back to Arusha, Karatu, or Tarangire, or opt for a charter flight from Haydom or Manyara airstrips (2–3.5 hours drive, depending on road conditions).
