Day Activity: Arusha National Park Safari & Walking Tour
A day full of wildlife, scenic beauty, and adventure.
Morning Departure (7:00 AM – 8:00 AM)
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Moshi or Arusha and drive to Arusha National Park, about an hour away. Enjoy the stunning views of Mount Meru and the surrounding landscapes.
Game Drive & Wildlife Spotting (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
Embark on a thrilling game drive through different areas of the park:
- Momella Lakes – Home to flamingos and hippos.
- Ngurdoto Crater – A lush green valley often called the "Little Ngorongoro" with buffaloes, warthogs, and monkeys.
- Savanna Grasslands – Spot giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and sometimes elephants or leopards.
Walking Safari with an Armed Ranger (12:00 PM – 1:30 PM)
Unlike other parks, Arusha National Park allows you to leave the vehicle and walk through the wilderness with a ranger. This unique experience lets you see wildlife up close, hear the sounds of nature, and learn about animal tracks and plants.
Picnic Lunch in the Park (1:30 PM – 2:30 PM)
Enjoy your packed lunch at a scenic picnic site, surrounded by nature and wildlife.
Canoe Safari on Momella Lakes (Optional, 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM)
For an extra adventure, take a canoe safari on the tranquil Momella Lakes, where you can glide past hippos, waterbirds, and breathtaking scenery. (Additional cost applies.)
Afternoon Game Drive & Return (3:30 PM – 5:00 PM)
After a final game drive, exit the park and start your journey back to Arusha or Moshi, arriving in the evening.
